ESL Program Research Approval Process

The DEIL Research Committee does not grant permission for researchers to recruit students enrolled in ESL classes. Researchers who have obtained human subjects approval for a project (from DEIL, campus IRB, or College of Education) must contact the relevant supervisors directly. For more information about the procedures for recruiting students in ESL courses, please contact the program supervisors through email at the addresses provided below:

ITA oral communication courses (ESL 504, 506), Patti Watts, pawatts1@uiuc.edu

ESL pronunciation courses (ESL 110/510), Wayne Dickerson, dickrson@uiuc.edu

ESL writing and business courses (ESL 113, 114, 115, 500, 501, 502, 503, 505, 507).
